InsideOut Delhi Art Project


Help us to get the InsideOut Delhi exhibition of LGBTQ Indian artists, and the five winning artists to Sydney in February 2019 for Mardi Gras.

This video is me introducing the InsideOut Art Prize - India's first national competition for LGBTQ artists - just one month ago. Since then we have held the art competition, and a successful exhibition in Delhi of the amazing 32 finalists.

Now we need your help to get the artwork and the five winners to Sydney to exhibition their work at the National Art School as part of the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival in February 2019.

All of the money raised will go to freight, airfares, and living expenses in Australia for the artists for two weeks. None of the organisers get a cent and the organisation has no overheads. So all of the money is for the exhibition and the artists.

It is hard for an artist in any country to make a living, but imagine what it is like in a country with 1.4 billion people - over one-third of whom live in poverty. And a country where it was illegal to be LGBTQ until just three months ago. These artists have really worked against the odds to be who they are.

Now imagine what it will be like for these artists to see their work  hung in Sydney as part of one of the largest LGBTQ arts and cultural celebrations in the world,  in front of tens of thousands of local and international visitors.

We have only two months now to raise $A20,000 to give these artists an unimaginable opportunity and change their lives forever. Come join us in this project.
