This is an urgent call for mutual aid!!

A disabled former teacher is struggling with access to health care to manage their disability.

Our recipient has struggled for years with nerve related back problems and finding ways to manage her pain. She has already underwent multiple rounds of back surgery, but her symptoms persist. In addition to this, she suffers from type 2 diabetes, hyper tension, high cholesterol, and glaucoma in her right eye. This has led to her inevitable early retirement and issues with mobility. At 60 years young, she is just shy of the threshold to collect retirement and does not receive teachers pension. Access to treatment was much more attainable before she was denied renewal on her disability status. Despite her situation, she has been holding strong and finding ways to live and save for her prolonged treatment. But alas, our world is cruel and dishes out demise with no bias. Our recipient was recently a victim of identity fraud and her reserved savings were all stolen. Now trapped in these circumstances we reach out to you for any assistance you can provide. The specific treatments she’s seeking include general health appoints, a follow up appointment for her back pain, appointment with eye doctor, and renewal of her disability parking decal. While recovering from her identity theft situation, she’s had no choice in neglecting her anual health obligations, blood tests and check ups. Specialty care and testing have been even further prolonged and increasingly separate her from equitable access to treatment or ways to manage her pain. These appointments, with your help, are what we plan to use the donations on.
