This giving season, the Innocence Project and the Innocence Network are partnering to raise funds that will subsidize freed and exonerated people’s attendance at the 2026 Innocence Network Conference — the largest annual gathering of people impacted by wrongful conviction.
We need your support to ensure the conference is as accessible to as many freed and exonerated people as possible, and we hope you’ll consider making a donation or sharing this page with your peers.
The conference is more than just a gathering, it is a space for:
- Healing and Community
- Learning
- Leadership and Storytelling
- Movement-building and Collaboration
Watch the below video to hear directly from freed and exonerated people about the importance of this transformative event.
As the Innocence Network grows — now with 70+ member organizations, responsible for more than 860 exonerations — so does the need to ensure that every freed and exonerated person who wants to attend has access to this vital convening. We expect the 2026 Network Conference will be the largest-ever gathering of wrongfully convicted people.
While many innocence organizations strive to cover as much of the cost as possible for their freed or exonerated clients to attend the conference, the capacity to do so varies. Due to rising costs and growing attendance, we are asking freed and exonerated people to contribute to the cost of their attendance for the first time in the Innocence Network’s history.
Support from the GoFundMe community will help keep the cost to freed and exonerated people low, and will even allow some community members to attend for free!
The Innocence Network is a coalition of legally and financially independent organizations. To find and support your local innocence organization, click here for a directory of network members.
