In Memory of Stephanie

Stephanie, our 19 year old daughter / sister, lost her life in August 2016, whilst in the care of mental health hospital services. Stephanie was a bright and popular young person, who lived life to the full; she had a good sense of humour, a passion for music, and compassion for others. Losing Stephanie, especially in such traumatic  circumstances, has been devastating for our family. It remains a challenging time for us, but we aim to use what we have learned from our experience to help prevent other young people and their families from suffering in the same way.  Mental health is a growing problem amongst adolescents,  and although good work is already being done in this area, there's a long way to go in protecting  the lives and wellbeing of this age group. 

Our fundraising campaign is to support research, education and other projects aimed at improving the care of young people with or at risk of  mental health problems. We invite you to help  in any way you can. 

To start our campaign, Doug completed the 100 mile Birmingham Velo on Sunday, 12th May 2019, and Lauren will do the Great Manchester Half-Marathon Run on Sunday, 19th May, which would have been Stephanie's 22nd birthday.  Any sponsorship donations will be gratefully received.

We will use this site  to update you on events,  and how any funds raised are distributed.
