From Breanna, Miya, & Isaiah:
It is with heavy hearts, we announce that our mom passed away peacefully this morning. She was a light who brought joy to everyone she encountered. We truly appreciate everyone’s love and support during this time.
From Breanna, Miya, & Isaiah:
We sadly share that mom’s condition has not improved and she is now receiving end of life (hospice) care. Her medical team is keeping her comfortable and pain free while she transitions. We’d like to thank everyone for the prayers and kind messages during this time.
From Kisha, Rebekah’s sister:
These donations will be reallocated to helping pay for Rebekah’s funeral arrangements and Celebration of Life later this year in Louisiana.
Donors - If you would like to be refunded please let me know.

On 4/12/2025, Jenni Rebekah Semenuk suffered 2 Strokes related to a rare congenital chronic progressive cerebral artery vascular disease known as Moyamoya Disease that have left her unable to talk, write, eat/drink, and care for herself in Washington, DC. She had a 7hr Cerebral Artery Bypass Surgery on 5/13/25, has a PEG Feeding tube and requires insulin with each feeding, and a Foley catheter.
She was discharged from Medstar Washington Hospital Center and admitted to a Northern Va based Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) on 5/21/25. We - Kisha (sister) & Wyatt (brother)- are working with La Friends/Family, Va Case Managers/Social Workers, and La/Va Medicaid to have her transported to a La based SNF as soon as possible to be near La Family/Friend support during her long Stroke Recovery/Rehab journey ahead! Her Current Stroke Recovery/Rehab Prognosis: 6 months to 1 year before we know what cognitive and mobility function she will regain
The other pressing issue is that Bekah has been homeless for approximately a year in Northern Va, so she will not have a 'home' to be discharged too if she improves cognitively and is eligible for discharge from the Va based SNF.
The goal is to transport her asap once a La based SNF bed is confirmed. The money raised will fund: (1) Rental of a Camper Van/RV (2) Gas (3) Medical Supplies/Equipment needed for transporting her from Va to La. The Fundraising target is based on a quote from a Medical Ground Transportation Company and potential Medical Supplies/Equipment needed to ensure a safe medical transport. Family will be driving and I - Kisha (sister) - will be her pro bono RN during transport (approximately 18 hr drive/1,200 miles one way and we will be returning to Va to drop off Rental).
Thank you for your generosity and support!
