We will be shutting down this GoFundMe. Out of the total funds raised here, about $25,000 was spent in the first few months after Ajay went missing. Our previous funds raised have been used on the visa and related fees to bring the parents over, and we have made heavy use of the services of our lawyer-interpreter and related costs. We are very grateful to everyone who donated and helped support our efforts to find him. It is with immense sadness and grief that we share with you the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office confirmation of Ajay Sah’s passing on May 3rd, 2021.
We will be creating a new GoFundMe , the proceeds of which will cover Ajay’s cremation, travel expenses of his immediate family, and other religious and cultural rites over the period of one month. Dear Community,
On January 19th, 2021, Ajay Sah (my younger brother) went missing. Ajay was a 22-year-old Junior and Nepalese International student from Drew University in Madison, NJ, and had last been sighted exiting NJ Transit train in New York Penn Station. As a community, we worked together to spread this news far and wide, in great hopes that it will lead to his return. We cannot thank you enough for your support.
However, it is with immense sadness and grief that we are sharing that Morris Country Prosecutor’s Office has announced Ajay Sah’s passing on May 3rd, 2021. Ajay was not only a valued member of the Drew University community, but also a beloved son, and brother to his family in Nepal. His departure has left a hole in the hearts of many, and we are devastated by his loss. Ajay was known for his adventurous spirit, contagious smile, and most importantly, his unconditional kindness. His warmth truly touched the lives of all those around him.
We want to give Ajay Sah the memorial that he truly deserves, a traditional cremation by his loved ones, to honor his memory and the impact that he has on all of us. ***We are requesting donations for the cremation, to fly the immediate family members to New Jersey for his cremation, and for other religious and cultural rites to be conducted over the period of one month.*** The fundraiser goal has been adjusted accordingly.
We are extremely grateful for your prayers and generosity thus far. The money previously collected from the fundraiser has been spent entirely in investigative and outreach processes, but was not enough to bring our parents to the U.S. We would really appreciate your contributions to help Ajay’s family to rightfully attend and conduct his funeral. Thank you for showing us love and strength in this difficult time.

We are writing to let you know that Ajay Sah, a 22-year-old Junior and Nepalese International student from Drew University in Madison, NJ has been missing since the night of Tuesday, January 19th, 2021. Ajay was last sighted exiting NJ Transit train in New York Penn Station.
We are devastated and struggling to find funds to cover the cost of all legal as well as private services necessary to help find Ajay. We also need the fund to raise public awareness to help find Ajay. The fund will also be used for parents’ travel to US, accommodation, and other expenses required by immediate family members in finding Ajay. Please be a part of this journey to help find Ajay Sah.
