Hi, I'm Oscar Solis. I'm a first-generation American-Mexican born to hockey and cold weather in Anchorage, Alaska. I moved in the 90s to NEW Mexico, USA with my family and found a small community of hockey fans to share my passion with. Over the past 17 years, I've enjoyed a career helping children and adults with intellectual disabilities discover the joy of sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports.
Now I want to share my love for skating and playing hockey with the youth and adults of New Mexico.
But New Mexico is not Alaska. Instead of subzero temperatures and ice rinks on almost every corner, New Mexico's high desert climate instead gives plenty of sun and heat. However, the sunny outdoors of our Land of Enchantment provides an opportunity for another form of skating and hockey: Inline.
That's why I'm asking you today to help fund the start of Desert Sol Inline---an inline skating program here in the Greater Albuquerque area. With your help, I can purchase many sizes of quality inline skates to offer as part of our learn-to-skate programs for youth and adults, hockey programs, recreational and fitness classes, and even inline tours for tourists of all ages and backgrounds.
Thank you for visiting our GoFundMe page! We hope to earn your trust and support to help us get this business off the ground and on some wheels!
