Injured Single Mom Lost Car Due to Accident

Hi. My name is Julie. I was in a car accident on February 9th. I was severely injured and I am unable to work at this time. I am a single mom raising two young ones on my own. We live outside of the city and do not have any real transportation options at this time.

I cannot work due to injuries, but was not working full time, so money is becoming an issue. The twenty year old car I could afford was a write off and I have to start from square one. I am getting some money for my 20 year old car from insurance due to it not being my fault, however it won't be enough to buy a car due to its age.

My lack of work right now makes it impossible to afford expensive monthly payments and expensive insurance. I only obtained my full G license last year, so my insurance costs are astronomical due to no fault of my own. My eldest child suggested I do a gofundme. I find it a bit embarrassing, but I guess it can't hurt, and I don't know how I will be getting my youngest to school once my mother has her surgery soon. She will be unavailable for rides and I am not comfortable with my youngest walking alone. Her older sister is already in high school. I can't walk her back and forth yet, as I am severely injured and not able to do much as of yet.

Any help would be appreciated. I just need to get through my recovery and get back to work. Then, maybe, I can get back to where I was physically and financially again. I just graduated from the social service worker program in June of 2024 and really wanted to be helping others right now. But I may need help from others to get there.
