Hi everyone. As you might know, I lost my best friend last week, my cattle dog Pepper, suddenly and unexpectedly to cancer. To make matters worse, my cat Owen had gone missing the week prior. Pepper and Owen loved each other and would play endlessly together. Two days after Pepper passed away, he dragged himself back after being missing for a week. He'd suffered blunt force trauma to his left hind leg, and it will need major reconstructive surgery. It's a miracle he got himself back home, but he's a tough little guy as well as a sweetheart, and the best purr factory ever. He currently can't walk and his surgery is scheduled. It's estimated to cost $8000. The problem is, after all the diagnostics and work I had done to try to save Pepper, I just can no longer afford it. I'm going ahead though, as his prognosis with surgery is very good. I couldn't save Pepper, but I'm surely going to save Owen no matter what. If you loved Pepper, any amount in her memory will help. If we exceed the goal, then all excess will be donated to California Cat Rescue to help with their great work.
