Injured Missionaries Needing Your Help
Donation protected
My aunt Pappet Amihan has been a missionary in Thailand, near the border of Myanmar for the last 20 years. Her mission is to give girls at risk for human trafficking shelter and education. She has been a mother figure to me my whole life as well as to the young girls she has been taking care of all these years. This is a link to a video that shows the work that my aunt and her mission partners perform https://www.facebook.com/The700ClubAsia/videos/10154481982027032/
Unfortunately, a tragic event has happened to my aunt. While she was attending a conference in Chiang Mai,she and her missionary partner Gigi, were hit by a high-speeding motorcyclist. Both of them are currently admitted at McCormick Hospital. Thankfully, Gigi will hopefully be discharged soon. My aunt however sustained a T12 fracture that is impinging on her spinal cord. It is fortunate that the damage did not cause paralysis but any movement of her torso right now gives her excruciating pain. To alleviate her symptoms and to prevent further damage to the cord, she needs an urgent spine surgery. Since she does missionary work, she does not have health insurance or substantial savings to cover this surgery. Their hospital expenses are projected to be around 15,000 USD. About 9,000USD will go towards the surgery alone and the rest for their general hospital expenses. The hospital will not operate unless they are paid at least about $4,000. We as a family pooled our resources and hopefully she will have the surgery tomorrow.
We really appreciate that some of you have asked how you could help. We are asking that you continue to pray for them both specifically for pain relief, safe surgery and complication free recovery. And we are also appealing for any contribution to help defray their medical expenses. Any amount that you donate will be greatly appreciated. If there is any excess, it will all go to their mission called Elpis Ministries.
