Injured kitten, Buster, needs your kindness!

Donation protected
My friends Theresa and Chris often devote their time to helping stray cats in their neighborhood. One of their neighbors had kittens, and even though Theresa offered to help with them, the neighbors declined. Recently, the neighbors moved out, but before they did, they left an injured (approximately) 3-month-old kitten on Theresa's doorstep and left. The kitten's back legs are injured, and he cannot use them. According to the vet, it's possible the poor guy, who we are affectionately calling Buster, was stepped on or dropped. He tries so hard to stand and walk normally, but when he stands up, his little head shakes and he ultimately falls down.

Buster saw a vet, who gave him treatment for worms, and they are feeding him wet food to help him gain some weight since he's just over 2 lbs. The vet also took X-rays showing what they said is spinal damage near his shoulder that he thinks is causing the paralysis.

Long story short, this happy little guy, who wants to play and wants to LIVE, needs anywhere from $5-$10,000 of veterinary care, including surgery and possibly therapy. Right now, he needs a lot of attention and care - he needs to be cleaned up when he uses the litter box, he needs to gain weight, and he needs to be supervised so he doesn't get hurt. During the day when someone is home with him, Buster hangs out in a tote Theresa made for him with everything he needs. He can see through it and has toys to play with. At night, Theresa moves him to the bathroom to make sure he's safe. He crawls to the litter box and tries to do all the things cats are supposed to do! We're all hoping he makes it through this. He's trying so hard!

On behalf of Theresa and Chris, who are going above and beyond to help this guy, I am hoping to help them raise some money to give this guy a fighting chance.

We are reporting the incident to Animal Control (via the Nebraska Humane Society) and the Omaha Police. They do have Ring camera footage of the neighbor dropping off the kitten.
