Help Me Recover After My Car Accident & Stay Afloat for My Son

Hi everyone,

I never thought I’d be in this position, but I’m reaching out for help after a serious car accident turned my life upside down. On October 8, 2024, I was rear-ended by an MTA bus and suffered two herniated discs and two muscle tears, which led to a painful recovery process and surgery. While my medical bills are being covered by insurance, I’m currently unable to work and that’s made it incredibly hard to keep up with basic living expenses.

Right before the accident, I had just received a job offer to become a FedEx driver,something I was really looking forward to. But due to the pain and injuries, I was physically unable to start. That loss of income has made this time even harder.

I am currently suing the MTA and have applied for disability benefits, but I’m still waiting to find out if I’ll be approved. On top of that, I have two more medical procedures coming up, and I’ve been told I’ll be out for at least another six months while I heal. In the meantime, I’m doing everything I can to stay afloat.

My biggest concern is staying stable for my son while I recover. With no income, I’m falling behind on bills and facing possible eviction. I also have a few beloved animals at home, and I help foster stray and rescue cats whenever I can—so keeping our little family safe and cared for is more important than ever.
