When I was growing up, I spent time almost every day at my "other" mother's (Marijane Guth) home. Her daughter, Kristy, was my best friend throughout elementary school. I was at her home every day after school, many times on the weekends, sleepovers, and carpools to all our extracurricular activities. We were incredibly devastated and heartbroken to hear about the Campfire in Paradise, CA and to see the destruction in the picture above, which are the remnants of Marijane's home.
Marijane has given her time, talents and support to so many throughout her life. In Chicago, she was very active in Berry United Methodist Church and Varblomman Children's Club. Her full time passion and volunteer work was with Bill's Family (a recovering community for those struggling with addictions.) Since her move to Paradise, CA five years ago, she has been active in Paradise United Methodist Church, the local Eagles lodge and has volunteered at Feather River Hospital.
She is always thinking of others and how she can help them. This time, I'm hoping you will join me to help and support this generous and amazing woman. She left her home in Paradise, CA unable to grab any of her belongings and fled in less than 30 minutes to safety. Her home was completely lost in the fire. All her treasured belongings, pictures and decades of memories did not survive. She is homeless (staying with a friend currently) and is looking for a new place to live. We are asking for your help to get her back on her feet.
Marijane is an amazing woman who has given so much to so many. We are asking you to help and donate anything you can. No amount is too small. We would also appreciate prayers. For those who knew her well, I'm sure she would appreciate any pictures you might be able to share. Many thanks to you all!
