Sarah's father and mother, Howard (Howie) and Tonya Gimbel were involved in a terrible motorcycle accident on May 7, 2016.  Unfortunately, Howard Gimbel never made it. Tonya is said to be able to make a recovery.

Howard Gimbel was a 20 year veteran of the Tampa Police Department. Working with the department since 1996. He was off duty at the time of the accident.

Sarah is now going to college in the Fall 2016 and needs help to pay the expenses and offset the cost of her tuition.

Howard was recently honored by the Tampa Bay Lighting as one of the Boldest of the Bay and you can learn about him and his work via this video.

The Tampa Police Department has posted on their Facebook page: 
"It's with great sadness to inform everyone of the loss of MPO Howard Gimbel who was killed in an off-duty motorcycle crash earlier today. He will be missed deeply by the department and the entire City of Tampa."

Any help with this campaign will assist this young lady to continue with her journey to the University of South Florida despite the struggles she will face without her father by her side.

About me:
My name is Ayelet and I live in South Florida with my husband Ryan and our daughter. We are Sarah's cousins.  Howie's sister, Dara, asked us to help them set up the campaign for Sarah.
Tonya together with Dara have access to the funds and will ensure they are managed properly. The funds will go towards Sarah's moving, housing, tuition and other expenses related to her attending USF. 

The family is truly appreciative of all the support and messages they have received. We thank everyone for contributing, sharing, and helping in anyway they can.
