If you have never heard of para-neoplastic cerebellum degeneration caused by the antibody Anti yo you need to read my sisters story. It could save a life. It took five weeks for the neurologist to diagnose this rare disease. It presents itself as a neurological problem but is actually caused by cancers in either the gyno or breast area of women. Practically over night my sister lost her ability to talk, walk, use motor skills, eat and see. She remained dizzy and vomiting violently for weeks. She could only lay flat in bed with her eyes closed. A spinal tap revealed the antibody attacking her cerebellum was being produced by the cancer in her ovary and destroying the brain cells in her cerebellum. After many treatments, a hysterectomy, and 14 agonizing weeks, my sister was sent to rehab. She is still dizzy and has blurry vision and slurred speech. She cannot walk or even feed herself. She is being tube fed now. They are trying to help her walk again. This disease stole her life.  Her dream is to be able to play with her grand babies again. To be able to go to her sons wedding and dance with him. Without rehab this is just a dream. Her life is dependent on rehab, as she cannot get chemo treatments until she can walk, and medical Insurance will only help with 20 days of rehab.
