Ein offenes, resilientes Internet ist jedoch eine zentrale Voraussetzung für Meinungsfreiheit, Bildung und gesellschaftliche Teilhabe.

Wir sind ein internationales, ehrenamtliches Netzwerk von Menschen aus IT-Berufen, das sich für digitale Grundrechte, freien Informationszugang und offene Technologien einsetzt.

Mit dieser Kampagne unterstützen wir offene digitale Infrastrukturprojekte, die Menschen weltweit miteinander verbinden. Die eingesetzte Technik ist frei zugänglich und transparent. Sie wird außerhalb von Regionen mit eingeschränktem Internetzugang betrieben – damit Information, Austausch und Verbindung möglich bleiben.

100 % der Spenden fließen in Anmietung und Betrieb virtueller Server bei internationalen Hosting-Anbietern. Die gesamte technische Umsetzung, Administration und Weiterentwicklung erfolgt ehrenamtlich. Wir arbeiten daran, technische Kennzahlen und Nutzungsstatistiken öffentlich und transparent bereitzustellen, ohne dabei die Sicherheit der Nutzer*innen zu gefährden.

Jeder Beitrag macht dabei einen Unterschied. Als Orientierung gilt: 20 € können im Durchschnitt dazu beitragen, Infrastruktur zu unterstützen, die etwa 100 Menschen einen Monat lang sichere Kommunikation ermöglicht.

Transparenz & Compliance

Es findet keine direkte Auszahlung oder Bereitstellung von Geldern an Einzelpersonen oder Organisationen in sanktionierten Ländern statt. Sollten Mittel vorübergehend nicht vollständig benötigt werden, werden sie ausschließlich für Projekte mit vergleichbarem Zweck verwendet, die den offenen Zugang zu Informationstechnologien fördern.

In many parts of the world, free access to the internet is restricted. People are cut off from independent information, free communication, and digital services. Yet an open and resilient internet is a fundamental prerequisite for freedom of expression, education, and social participation.

We are an international, volunteer-based network of people working in IT professions, committed to digital civil rights, free access to information, and open technologies.

With this campaign, we support open digital infrastructure projects that connect people around the world. The technology used is openly accessible and transparent. It is operated outside regions with restricted internet access—so that information, exchange, and connection can remain possible.

100% of donations go toward renting and operating virtual servers with international hosting providers. All technical implementation, administration, and further development are carried out on a voluntary basis. We are working to make technical metrics and usage statistics publicly and transparently available, without compromising the security of users.

Every contribution makes a difference. As a guideline: €20 can, on average, help support infrastructure that enables secure communication for approximately 100 people for one month.
