Aloha! My name is Dr. Krysta Scimeca and I started a mixed-animal mobile veterinary practice for Lahaina after the fires of August 2023 took the only two vet hospitals in west Maui. Since then, I’ve been serving the rural communities of Maui county for 1.5 years in Hana and 0.5 years on Moloka’i. Travel time and cost are too much to justify, translating to increased cost for my clients. Already, ~30% of my clients cannot afford regular veterinary care. This initiative is to fund my training in flying a gyroplane as well as purchasing one for Infinity Vet, so I can treat the animals of Maui county with utmost time and fuel efficiency. The sooner I get this gyroplane, the sooner I can decrease my cost to my clients in Lahaina, Hana and Molokai.
