We are Ian and Jessica.
We are high school sweethearts, best friends, husband and wife of over a decade, and we have struggled with infertility.
I (Jessica) was diagnosed with a disorder at only 10 years old, and told that I would likely never be able to have children. At the time I wasn’t overly concerned, but a few years later I would meet the love of my life (Ian) and all of that would change.
(The following may be triggering for some people, so please proceed with caution)
I have had many miscarriages (unfortunately now we’re at a total of 8) and we have been trying to conceive or not preventing conception for nearly 8 years.
We have so much to be thankful for and we will March on no matter what the outcome, but at this point we would like to try to raise the funds to enable us to receive basic fertility testing, as none of the tests or any treatments are covered by our insurance.
It is very difficult to know how to proceed or whether to fully throw in the towel without knowing the cause of the issue(s) we face in this situation. It is also incredibly difficult to ask for help, and we are trying to push our pride to the side and ask those in our lives who are able to, to help us on this journey. We are acutely aware of how difficult the last year + has been for SO many people, and how many are still picking up the pieces. With all our hearts,
PLEASE do not feel obligated to donate, and do not go without on our behalf. Every penny is appreciated, but every ounce of support is invaluable to us. At this time we are ONLY seeking funding for TESTING, and it is unknown whether treatments will be available to us and if so, what the costs (both monetary and physical/emotional) will be, and/or if they will be prohibitive. If/when we are able to complete testing we can decide how to proceed. There is a chance that being parents simply is not in the cards for us, and that is something we will learn cope with should that be the case. Any additional funding, in that case, will be donated to a worthy cause/charity or another infertile person or couple on their journey. We truly have SO much to be grateful for, but we are humbly in search of this one additional blessing. I am starting with this amount to help get the ball rolling with initial consultations and testing, but it is unknown what the total cost(s) will be.
