I am writing on behalf of my family to ask for your support for our mother, Ines Irizarry. At the beginning of the year she began to have difficulty breathing and ended up being hospitalized and treated for severe Pneumonia. Shortly after, she was diagnosed with Stage IV metastatic Lung Cancer.




Our mother had a loving and rewarding career as a bilingual para-educator for the Hayward Unified School District spanning across 3 decades, during this time she helped scores of second Language and special needs students at Ruus School in Hayward California. Now our mother, who retired this school year, finds herself fighting for her life in retirement instead of enjoying it.




Our family is starting this campaign to both ease the burden of health related expenses as well as make much needed home modifications to ensure her comfort during her treatment. Any contribution will go a long way in aiding our family to provide her with the resources she needs to continue the fight and maintain a decent quality of life. These modifications will also provide her with a sense of comfort, security and independence.
