Medical Bills and Life

My oldest daughter Amber was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis/Crohns which is a form of Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). Not to be confused with Irratible Bowel syndrome (IBS). Her life has been turned upside down. She has not been able to live a normal 11 year old life of fun and games, growing up, and just being a kid. Instead she is forced to live the life of doctors, hospitals, tons of medicines, and enteral nutrition feeds. Because of all the medicines she has literally stopped growing and that is because of all the steriods the doctors and hospital have had to use. Every 3 weeks we have to drive her to the Childrens Hopsital of Philadelphia to get her Remicade Infusions which is a lot like Chemo therapy but for patients with IBD. She is always hurting and sad about her lifesytle and it is very difficult to have to be a parent in this situation. My wife and I try very hard to give her a positive attitude about it all and will continue to do so. The school has forced us to home school her because of this condition. With all the traveling, medical bills & treatments, not to mention my wife has had to cut back and work only part time. I understand life is challenging and we have to do everything we can to make it work but right now we are just unable to catch up. We love Amber and will do anything we need to make her healthy and strong if we have to sell the house we will but i was told about this site and who knows things can happen.
