Hi my loves. Today is the day that Rubin and I have to say goodbye to our beautiful boy, Jesse, who has been the bestest boy to ever boy in the whole history of best boys. Just a month ago we were told he has a tumour on his spleen with abnormalities to his liver which probably meant cancer that had spread. We didn’t go for the surgery to remove his spleen because there was a high risk he’d die in surgery. We were greedy. We wanted more time with him. Sadly, that time has run out and now it’s unfair to keep him alive while he suffers so greatly. He has always been an angel, walking up to many people on our walks and leaning gently against them to be petted. People always leave changed when they meet him. He is well-loved in my neighbourhood by people who’ve spoken to us for years on our walks along the river and through the park. I don’t know how I’m going to get through the winter without our walks or how to start telling people that he’s gone. It’s been a wonderful 9 years with him. He and Rubin and I are a family. The hole he leaves behind is huge.
As you may know, I reduced my work hours to be at home with him while he was in his last days. In order to have him individually cremated, with his ashes returned to us, it will cost £150. We would like to do this so we can take his ashes to one of his favourite walking places and scatter them (rather than have him cremated with other pets at no cost, with no ashes returned to us). Financially, this is difficult for us right now. We would be so grateful if you feel you’d like to make a donation towards this cost so that we can bring our best boy home when he has very much earned his angel wings.
much love, Sam
