Hi, my name is Indigo. You might know me as Skyliting or ParadisaCorbasi. I’m raising money for rent and other survival expenses until I can get a job, disability, or social security early retirement.
I spent 40+ years in customer service, but in 2022 my company downsized my position, and although my manager tried to find an opening in the company I could transfer to, there wasn’t one.
Since then, I’ve had a few contract or temporary positions, including one back at my original company, but nothing permanent. The job market these days is terrible. I end up with job hunter scams, spam mail, and jobs I am not qualified for.
I have visited job hunting resources and I have had my resume reviewed to bring it into parity with today's job search requirements.
My job hunt is further complicated by my asthma getting significantly worse. I can no longer do a job that requires talking on the phone, which was the majority of my career. I have to do a breathing treatment every few hours. I get out of breath just walking around my apartment. I'm exercising to improve that.
I’ve started a disability application, but we all know how long those take (and how often the first application gets denied).
Unfortunately, as a result of my unemployment, I also don’t have health insurance at the moment and got denied for Medicare, although I’m appealing that. This makes treating my respiratory issues even more complicated. The ACA plans I could afford when I had work didn't cover my needs.
I know times are hard for everyone, so if you can’t donate, please click that share link and send it around? I’d really appreciate it.
