Hi everyone, we are reaching out with our fundraiser seeking help raising funds to build a new 8m x 10m greenhouse at our new nursery at Matraville Sports High School. Indigigrow has been running at La Perouse for nearly four years now and currently provides seven jobs for local Indigenous people, including five apprentices. We have already built a lot of the nursery and need this infrastructure to begin growing plants.

As this nursery is based in a high school, this structure will allow us to provide many students with school-based work experience, traineeships and curriculum-based learning activities delivered by the teachers. It will also allow us to scale up our work with local critically endangered plant species, which IndigiGrow has been working on for the last three years. It will also allow us to increase jobs and provide more young Indigenous people with a meaningful career working with traditional plants, learning traditional knowledge, and strengthening their cultural identity while looking after the country and improving the environment.

This structure will also allow us to improve biodiversity and grow plants that support local wildlife, which are critical components of a healthy and sustainable environment. $15,000 will allow us to purchase the greenhouse kit, and anything, if any, raised above our target will enable us to buy greenhouse benches and other necessary equipment.
