2026 Indigenous Peoples Day Gathering on Randalls Island OCTOBER 11th-12th 2026.This two-day gathering is a celebration of our survival as Indigenous People. It is a push to make New York City replace Columbus Day with Indigenous Peoples Day. This is a free celebration with dance, music, spoken word, and guest speakers. Monday there is a sunrise ceremony beginning at 7am.

For generations, Indigenous Peoples have protected the lands, waters, languages, and traditions that continue to shape this city and this country. Indigenous Peoples Day NYC is more than a celebration it is a movement dedicated to honoring Native nations, educating the public, uplifting Indigenous artists and leaders, and creating a space where Indigenous voices are heard, respected, and celebrated.

Each year, Indigenous Peoples Day NYC brings together Native communities, allies, educators, artists, youth, elders, and families for a powerful day of culture, ceremony, education, and connection. Through traditional performances, storytelling, panel discussions, community gatherings, and cultural demonstrations, we share the living histories and vibrant futures of Indigenous peoples. This work is made possible by community support.

We are raising funds to help cover essential event costs, including:

• Venue and event production expenses
• Honorariums for Indigenous artists, speakers, and cultural leaders
• Travel and accommodations for Native participants
• Educational programming and youth activities
• Accessibility services and community outreach
• Cultural preservation and future Indigenous-led initiatives
