Metzli is a sobadora, womb healer, herbalist, doula and childbirth educator. Traditionally trained by mestras and parteras in Veracruz, Mexico, she carries on this vital indigenous connection and wisdom. 

She was intending to work for the rest of this month, and was saving for her postpartum nest, so that she could have someone clean once a week, as she also has a toddler at home. 

Our contributions will go to her medical treatment, as well as to the possibility of an extended postpartum time that she and her baby may need after the NICU experience. 

She is a treasure in our community, and can really use our support to make this stressful time a little easier.

Last week, without expecting her so soon my baby decided it was time to be earthside We had a beautiful labor and delivery that i will share with you soon but she needed assistance to breathe due to be premature.

We are doing fine and baby is thriving at the NICU. Days and nights have become a mix of emotions, reflections, prayers and most of all a road of resilience to stay focused in the good.

Life, my life hasn't been smooth at all. Every learning have come with a shakening experience that slapped me on the face to basically turn my head and look to the other realities that I wasn't aware. This time it is about the NICU experience as a brown immigrant woman.

I will take the time too to explain every piece of this experience little by little. But today this post is to ask for your help.

I'm coming to you with humble heart to ask for your support in this time of transition. I'm experiencing a very particular cuarentena. I feel supported and love by a beautiful community of friends which has been essential because as you know I don't have blood relatives here neither my partner. We are both immigrants with different immigration situations that makes difficult bring our family and more at this time with covid restrictions.
