This is the Rock House (also known as the Boulder House), nestled in Southeast Indiana near Brookville. Built in 1907 using stones gathered from across the contiguous United States, it features a stunning rock bridge, intricate stone walls, and a massive rock gazebo. It’s a one-of-a-kind landmark and truly a sight to behold.
However, years of neglect left the Rock House severely deteriorated, both inside and out. Pretty much everything has needed to be repaired or replaced from the AC unit to the well water pump. In 2019, we purchased the property with the hope of restoring it to its former beauty. Since then we have poured everything we have into that goal. Working tirelessly through freezing cold winters and sweltering summer heat, doing our best to clean up and care for the property.
There’s still a long list of work ahead: the stone walls need attention, the gazebo roof still needs work, and the exterior doors are trash. More recently, a simple property line misunderstanding has unfortunately escalated into legal action brought against us by a neighbor. It has created unexpected complications and expenses in which we were not expecting.
The Rock House needs your help!
