Back Home Again in Indiana
Donation protected
I grew up and went to school in Indiana before moving to Washington, DC and to Brooklyn, NY. I left my friends and family for 25 years, not visiting Indiana often. I changed how I thought about the world, but most of the people I know in Indiana did not. I want to try and change that.

This election woke me up--I was in Chicago on election day seeing the show, "Fun Home" when I started to think that Trump may very well win the election. Two days later, I was in my hometown of Wakarusa, IN where I saw Trump signs all over and discovered that people who I know and like voted for him. I learned a lot about what drove people to vote for Trump...and its not what you think!

Through this documentary, I want to interview friends, family and anyone throughout Indiana that I know (or not) and have them talk--express themselves to understand why their vote for Trump may have seemed like a good idea at the time, but...

I would tie it all together with research on small town, rural America and how Washington works, having worked on both sides of Congress, at POLITICO, and the National Journal.

I am reaching back and trying to bring my home state along into the future and could use your help and support. Thank you!
