Empower the Women of India! -- Gaining Financial Sustainability through Vocational Training
With your help, women in India can learn valuable tailoring skills to develop economic independence and care for their families. Your purchase of sewing machines and other support of this tailoring program will provide benefits for years to come. As part of the ongoing ministry of OM -- with deep roots and broad effectiveness in India -- the leaders of this village-based tailoring-education program will enable further empowerment in their community.
A major Christian presence in India, OM has worked there since 1963. Current ministry includes education, healthcare, economic empowerment, women's empowerment, anti-human trafficking, literature, and the building up of believers in Christ through the Good Shepherd churches. After serving with OM, visiting their ongoing ministry in the village where they want to start this program, and seeing the difference these projects make, I want to help support them by spreading the word! The funds we raise will go towards the following needs:
One-Time Investment/Startup Costs:
$1,000 8 Tailoring Machines
$150 10 Wooden Stools
$150 1 Cutting Table and 1 Cupboard
$125 Scissors, oil, etc.,
$50 Transportation
$100 Electrical upgrades
Ongoing Operations (Annual; Budget supports two years):
$1,350 Trainer’s Honorarium
$1,150 Space Rental
$350 Electricity, machine maintenance
$275 Program Inauguration and Graduations
$225 Administrative Expenses
$375 Fundraising fees
