Georgina and I, along with other pupils from HMSG and Monmouth School are going on an expedition to India this summer. Our first week there is going to be spent acclimatising to the altitude and carrying out some work at Upper Valley School, in Burua, Manali. We have decided that we're going to do a skydive in order to raise the money we'll need to gain for the school equiptment.
The money we intend to raise will be used to help improve the school's basic infrastructure and safety, as well as giving them science, PE equiptment and other basic classroom necessities, something many of us take for granted in the UK.
We hope to spend the money on things such as:
The cost of mending the metal safety railings,
Extending the safety railings,
The cost of new benches,
The cost of new tables,
Science equipment and supplies,
Sports equipment.
Raising this money would mean the world to the both of us and the rest of the group as we're fortunate enough to attend a school with such fantastic facilitie, it would be amazing to give back to those with simpler ways of living and learning by providing the basic equipment we get on a daily basis in school.
