The Ecolint student and teacher team made their first visit to India in 2001 and we are privileged to have had over twenty years of service learning and collaboration in community projects.

In April each year, the team travels to India to work and learn in the communities surrounding Kodaikanal. We support and empower children from the most disadvantaged families through our work in the three creches, a tribal village pre-school, family homes and the local hospital. We work in collaboration with families, children, teachers and nurses, skilled workers and community leaders.

The project has had a significant impact on the community in India and it has been an educational journey for Ecolint students, inspiring learning through meaningful relationships, action, social innovation.

The main aims for the India Project are to promote:

-Education in creches/pre-schools

-Healthcare in creches/pre-schools

-Smoke free homes with smokeless stoves

-Women’s empowerment projects

-A cosy welcome for babies at the maternity hospital

Any amount donated will help us to reach this project's potential to empower our creche children in India to reach their full potential.
