Sadly, our dear friend and colleague India Cummings passed away unexpectedly last week. India was a beaming light of sunshine to all who knew her. Her laugh was infectious, and she truly always had a positive attitude. India loved being part of a team and formed lasting friendships easily. She was a devoted mother and caregiver and will be missed deeply by all who knew her.
India leaves behind her beautiful children, Indonesia (21) and Milan (18), and her mom, Avril Julien, all of whom she provided for. Indo is a student at U Mass, Lowell and Milan attends Charlestown High. India was so proud of her children and spoke of them often to her coworkers.
India's friends at work have started this page to support her family during this difficult time.
India spent 25 years with John Hancock, during which time she excelled in her Compliance Analyst role. While India’s daily contributions shall not be overlooked, we'll remember ALL that she contributed outside of these responsibilities.
India was renowned for her shadow sessions, sharing her knowledge with those that wanted to know more. As one associate recently shared...“I was only shadowing, but she had ME pumped up about HER work…!”
India participated in countless opportunities to engage with fellow associates and the financial services community. Any chance to learn more and meet new people excited her. She was an active member of the Global Woman’s Alliance and most recently was selected as a winner of the Global Compliance Mission Statement contest. Her loyalty shined through in all that she pursued.
It was an honor to have called India a friend and colleague for the past 25 years, and she will be missed dearly. Please help us support her family by donating today.
Thank you.
