India is facing a health crisis. The Covid cases are surging and hospital beds are full. There is shortage of oxygen, death toll rising with overflowing crematoriums. It's a grim situation. Many people have lost their parents, relatives, close friends to this second wave of Covid. As we hear the news streaming from India, the scenes are apocalyptic with a total crash of health system and essential health supplies. Due to this shortage the prices of medicines and health supplies have risen exponentially. The lower middle class and poor people can not afford to pay for treatment of their loved one at such exorbitant prices. Some people lost both their life savings and their loved ones to this epidemic.
How can you help?
As hospitals do not have beds available, many NGOs and Gurdwaras have set up makeshift hospitals for taking care of the sick. But they don't have access to Oxygen supplies which is already running short in the country. We can help them by providing Oxygen concentrators for this newly constructed facility.
We are partnering with Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC), one of the largest charity organization in India. They have converted Bhai Lakhi Shah Vanjara Hall into a 250 hospital bed facility. With your donations we will be procuring Oxygen concentrators from here and ship them to India. All the concentrators will be sent directly to DSGMC to convert these beds into oxygen beds.
