Our community’s young performers deserve the opportunity to grow, compete, and be part of something bigger than themselves. That’s why we are creating an Independent Percussion and Guard Program open to all students in grades 7–12 throughout Cambria County.
Over the years, many schools in our area have been forced to eliminate their indoor percussion and color guard programs due to budget cuts and lack of resources. As a result, countless talented students no longer have access to the performing arts opportunities they love. Our goal is to change that by providing a program where students from any school — or even students without a school program at all — can come together to learn, perform, compete, and build lifelong friendships.
We believe every student should have the chance to participate regardless of their financial situation. That is why we are working hard to keep participation low-cost or completely free for families. However, creating a successful and safe program requires significant funding and support from our community.
Funds raised through this GoFundMe will help cover:
• Instruments and performance equipment
• Flags, rifles, props, and guard equipment
• Competition registration fees
• Transportation and travel expenses
• Rehearsal space rental fees
• Uniforms and warm-up jackets
• Music, show design, and instructional resources
• Insurance, operational expenses, and other program necessities
Our vision is to build a lasting organization that gives students a place to belong, express themselves creatively, and develop confidence, discipline, teamwork, and leadership skills. As we continue to grow, we plan to officially establish the organization as a nonprofit so we can continue serving students in Cambria County for years to come.
Every donation — no matter the size — helps us create opportunities for local students who otherwise may never get the chance to experience indoor percussion and color guard. If you are unable to donate, sharing our fundraiser with others would mean the world to us.
Thank you for believing in our students, our mission, and the future of performing arts in our community.
