Many of our community pharmacies were damaged , looted and even destroyed during this bout of civil unrest. Unfortunately, some of the hardest hit, were the pharmacies that are among the most essential businesses in our communities. Lloyd's Pharmacy is a landmark and was a total loss, but many other pharmacies bore the brunt of the damage as well. When contacted, the owners of the pharmacies damaged have been too busy to even ask for help, just doing what they can to care for their patients and their community. If you are looking to support the community , and the pharmacies that support the community , please consider joining our work in the rebuilding of these important businesses. All funds will go to Independent Community Pharmacy businesses that were damaged based on loss and immediate need . Do what you are comfortable with , $50 kazillion or $5. It all adds up. A complete financial report will be provided to all contributors periodically as to how and why the funds were allocated. I want to be clear that our health system, chain, and other pharmacists are our sisters and brothers in taking care of our community, but our independent family businesses have no back up, besides us. We have a Minnesota Pharmacist FB site set up to join together and share information on this crisis and future projects. Please join us! Please contact me with any questions you may have.
