Update 3/5/25
Help Our Local Hero Fulfill Her Last Wishes
Our dear friend, Carie, has spent her life caring for others as a dedicated nurse, a compassionate healer, and a true friend to so many in our community. Now, as she faces the final chapter of her journey, we have one last chance to give back to the woman who has given so much.
What started as a fundraiser for a chair lift has now become a plea to help Carie fulfill her last wishes. Time is not on our side, but love, generosity, and community are powerful forces. Whether it’s a special trip, a moment with loved ones, or simply peace of mind in these final days, we can make it happen—together.
I will update this often—days, minutes, time is of the essence. Anything helps. Any donation, any idea, any share, and most importantly, all the prayers.
If Carie was ever your nurse, if she ever comforted you or a loved one in a time of need, please consider donating. Every dollar counts. Every share spreads the word. Every kind word lifts her spirit.
Let’s rally around our local hero. Let’s remind her how much she is loved.
Help Carie, a COVID Nurse, Regain Independence with a Wheelchair Lift
Hi, my name is Cassie, and I’m reaching out for help on behalf of an incredible woman—Carie, a dedicated nurse, a loving mother of five, and a true hero who has spent her life caring for others.
During the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, Carie worked tirelessly on the COVID floor at Integris Edmond, putting her own health at risk to care for critically ill patients. In January 2022, she contracted the virus herself, and her life has never been the same.
How COVID Changed Her Life
What started as a virus turned into a devastating battle for her health. COVID attacked her lungs and stomach, leaving her with severe complications:
✔️ She is on oxygen 24/7 and can’t walk more than 20 feet without her oxygen levels dropping dangerously low.
✔️ Due to severe gastroparesis, she relies on a feeding tube for nutrition.
✔️ She requires daily IV infusions of potassium chloride, carrying around an IV pump along with her oxygen.
Why She Needs Your Help
Carie has a power wheelchair, which has been life-changing, but she cannot transport it on her own. Right now, she relies entirely on her husband to lift and load the wheelchair, making it difficult for her to leave the house without disrupting his job.
With an automatic wheelchair lift installed on her car, she would be able to:
✅ Regain independence by transporting her wheelchair on her own.
✅ Get to medical appointments and essential errands without burdening her husband.
✅ Improve her quality of life after everything she has sacrificed as a nurse.
A Personal Note
Carie has faced more battles than most of us could ever imagine, yet she continues to fight—with a smile on her face and love in her heart. She is not only a nurse and a fighter, but she is also a beautiful mother of five precious babies. Her strength and positivity inspire everyone who knows her. Now, it’s our turn to lift her up.
How You Can Help
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to cover the cost of the automatic wheelchair lift and installation. Every dollar counts, and any support—whether through a donation or simply sharing this fundraiser—will make a difference.
Let’s give back to someone who gave so much to others.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity!
