Medical Shadowing Opportunity Abroad

Hi there! My name is Taylor Arehart and I am a 3rd year pre-med student at Northern Arizona University. I am majoring in Biomedical Science and minoring in both Chemistry and Health and Wellness Coaching. If accepted into medical school, I hope to become either a cardio-thoracic or trauma surgeon.
In an attempt to enhance my medical school application and get more experience in the surgical field, I applied to study abroad with the Atlantis Fellowship. This is a prestigious program that allows undergraduate students to travel to one of 7 countries and shadow doctors in various specialties each week. Applying to this program was a REACH to say the least; a lot of the students they accept go to ivy league schools and have way more experience in medicine than I do.
Well, I'm proud to say that I WAS ACCEPTED INTO THE PROGRAM!!! In the Summer of 2019 I will be traveling to Thessaloniki, Greece and shadowing doctors in various specialties for 20+ hours a week. I will be one of the few undergraduates in the COUNTRY who will have experience in an Operating Room before even taking my entrance exams. This. Is. Insane. Seriously, I cannot stress how cool of an opportunity this is.
I'm sure you all are wondering where you come in to play. While the Atlantis Fellowship is an INCREDIBLE opportunity, it is no where near free. To secure my spot in the program, I have to pay $3100 in tuition, purchase a plane ticket, and make sure I have spending money while I'm there. Guys, I am a broke college student with a box of rice in my pantry and a half-full cup of coffee in the fridge. What even is $1,000.
Please- if you have anything to give- I will be forever grateful. All money raised will go toward paying the initial 2-week commitment fee, travel, and tuition. Becoming a surgeon is something I have been passionate about since I was in high school and my dedication to making it in this field has only grown stronger. If you are not in a position to give right now, please share this with your friends. The more I can get the word out the better.
