Who are we?

Portland Academy is a designated provision for learners aged 11-19 who have severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties from Sunderland and surrounding areas.

Why are we fundraising?

We are hoping to improve our outdoor area by creating a fully inclusive sensory trail and we need your help. As a special needs school we have dreams that go far beyond what our limited funding can provide, and we are fundraising so our young people can have the inclusive, accessible, joyful, and life‑enhancing spaces they truly deserve—places that help them feel safe, included, inspired, and celebrated for who they are.

How much are we hoping to raise?

£25,000 to fund 1 station.

The trail will be developed in stages over time, funding one station at a time, depending on funds raised, the project may be delayed until further funding can be secured for each station.
