Nurturing Every Mind: From Struggle To Success
The Art of Autism is an award-winning 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization based in California which empowers and supports talented autistic and neurodivergent people worldwide. They are accepting donations to support an innovative startup nonprofit organization, 2e4Me Academy Inc.
What is 2e4Me Academy:
2e4Me Academy Inc. aims to Nurture Every Mind from struggle to success by revolutionizing the academic AND social-emotional learning experience for ALL children, especially those who are autistic, neurodivergent, gifted, talented and twice exceptional. Twice exceptional (2E) children are among the most under-recognized and underserved learners – struggling to “fit in” anywhere: either their strengths and talents go unnoticed, or their challenges are minimized, ignored or unsupported. We have created a safe, stimulating learning haven where children feel seen, heard, empowered, and cared for. We wish to elevate learning for ALL children, aiming for their highest potential.
Who We Are:
2e4Me Academy is founded and directed by a Board-Certified Psychiatrist and staffed by a multidisciplinary team of highly specialized therapists, educators, and expert-level instructors in mathematics, literacy, languages, life sciences, visual arts, mathematics, and more. We collaborate with leaders and innovators in the fields of education and child development nationwide.
Who We Serve:
We serve ALL children. We are exceptionally well-suited for Neurodivergent, Gifted/Talented and Twice Exceptional (2e) children who may struggle in traditional classroom settings. Today we have a mix of both neurodivergent and neurotypical students.
What is Twice Exceptional (2e):
2e is an educational term which refers to children who demonstrate at least one area of giftedness or significant talent in addition to significant social-emotional challenges, learning disabilities or neurodevelopmental conditions which impact learning in traditional settings (such as dyslexia, ADHD, or autism). Twice-exceptional children think and process information differently. Like many other gifted children, 2e kids may be more emotionally and intellectually sensitive than their peers. Due to their learning differences, twice-exceptional kids can struggle with what comes naturally to their peers. Because of their unique abilities and characteristics, 2e students need a combination of rigorous educational programs and developmental support.
How We are Different:
2e4Me Academy is designed with expertise and personalization in mind. We integrate respectful, dignifying, collaborative child-centered therapeutic support with strengths-based academic development delivered in small inclusive groups of peers with overlapping interests and complementary skillsets. We focus on teaching children to express themselves safely, explore their creativity, expand their skills, invest in their strengths, and collaboratively problem-solve to address their challenges. Our children access the outdoors plentifully, in addition to warm, comfortable indoor learning hubs.
Why We Do It:
There are budding artists, scientists, storytellers, playwrights, entrepreneurs, explorers, and thinkers who are struggling, shamed, scolded or ignored in classrooms around the globe. We wish to invest in our kids and unleash their fullest potential.
What We Need:
Donations to help maintain and grow the reach of our program. We receive 150+ inquiries/per year from families seeking support, and we cannot scale without financial support.
Testimonials:
Our families, teachers and therapists can attest that our children look forward to arriving every morning and wish to stay and play longer when it’s time to leave!
