Support with representing England 4 Inclusive Kata in Poland
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Stephen.
I am raising funds to represent England in the European Championships, Poland, in inclusive karate (kata).
I have hidden disabilities, so I compete in the inclusive category at Karate events.
Being able to do this brings me so much joy!
I want to use this platform also to raise awareness of hidden disabilities!!!!!
I’m Autistic and have ADHD, and I also have a physical condition called Anklylosing Spondilitis (which is an auto immune disease affecting my spine), plus have other co-occurring conditions.
Daily I face various challenges; from sensory, to communication differences to being in constant bodily pain.
When I am competing, for those minutes on the Tatami (Karate matt) , my awareness is taken away from the pain to perform the Kata’s which I LOVE!
I hope to be able to do this for as long as possible and I’m thankful to the ‘World United Karate Federation’ (WUKF) that they provide an inclusive and fairer way for disabled people to compete in the Martial Art.
If I raise above £300 to get me to Poland, I will give the rest of the sponsorship to the following registered charities who have been supporting me through my diagnoses:
Centre for Autism and ADHD Support (CAAS) and National Axial Spondyloarthritis Society (NASS).
Thank you in Advance for sponsoring me to get to Poland and support the work of these helpful charities!!!!!!!!!
