OUR GOAL:
We aim to raise enough money to purchase interactive toys, electrical components, and tools to adapt these toys.

Inclusive Innovators, a Bay Area chapter of the Makers Making Change non-profit, understands that assistive technology (AT) is a necessity for the disabled. However, the lack of empathetic design, under-production, and cost barriers of AT components prevent accessibility and the much-needed early enrichment of disabled children.
Inclusive Innovators adapts interactive children's toys for easier use. We then distribute the adapted toys to disabled students in Special Education Programs at little to no cost.

Empathetic Adaptation Design and Cost Barriers:
- Interactive children’s toys like a Build-a-Bear often require the user to squeeze hard on a button embedded in the toy. However, especially physically disabled children may not have the strength/fine motor skills to squeeze hard. By wiring a large, easy-to-slap button in parallel to the embedded button, we remove the usability issue.
- In today’s market, a toy that typically costs $10 when unadapted is now sold for over $55. Through our efforts, we hope to remove this significant cost barrier for as many differently-abled children as possible.
