
Savanna's Medical Trip to Ohio
Savanna was born premature(29 weeks 5 days). After delivery it was discovered that her bowels were not completely structured. She was immediately taken to surgery to create an illeostomy to temporarily divert her bowel emptying. After several days of discovering that stoma was not working, she was taken back for a second surgery to correct the prior stoma. Savanna stayed in the NICU for a total of 56 days. Savanna is now required to receive in home Early Intervention services which include: SpeechTherapy, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and private in home nursing services. After months of testing, Savanna's pediatric surgeon has decided to send Savanna to Cincinnati's Children Hospital to have a reconstructive surgery to correct the abnormality.The surgery is being scheduled for late February and Savanna will possibly stay a total of 3 weeks at the minimal. Savanna's mother is a Registered Nurse and is now only able to work on an as needed- status to provide care for Savanna. Savanna's father is a welder, and had to go out for a medical surgery one week after Savanna's delivery. He was out of work for an extensive amount of time. They are asking for donations of any amount to help with travel expenses and other necessary cost that may be incurred while being out of work. God Bless everyone that has read this story.
