IN THE VOICE OF OUR MOTHERS:
A new and original Passover Haggadah

Did you ever wonder where the women are in the story of Passover?
Missing our voices and taking our cues from the rabbis of old, a group of women at the Woodstock Jewish Congregation came together to plot rebellion. We imagined ourselves as the the women of Exodus. We read passages that mention Shifa, Puah, Yocheved, Miriam, the Egyptian Princess called Bityah, and Tziporah. We listened deeply to hear the voices of women not mentioned: an unknown slave, a friend to Miriam, a wise woman in Midian. We stepped into their shoes, looked out of their eyes and found our story, our teachings, and our liberation. We added some personal memories from Passovers past. We held firm to the order of the seder but this time, In the Voice of Our Mothers.
We invite you to step into our world and support us as we birth our creation, that it may add to your excitement in and celebration of your own Passover ritual and your own freedom from whatever it is that binds you.
Now, with participation and contributions from a spirited and creative group of women of The Woodstock Jewish Congregation, Woodstock, NY, we have conceived, edited, and compiled an original, imaginative Passover Haggadah that celebrates our story of liberation from slavery to freedom. Listen, as you hear your own voice blending with the voices of our mothers, grandmothers and yes, the women of Exodus.
As we initiate this fundraising campaign, it is our intention to raise funds to print and distribute the book in time for next Passover, Nissan 5780 (April 2020). Through our sponsoring non-profit, Miriam's Well, your contributions are tax deductible.
Thank you for your generosity!
