We have arrived at the fight of all fights friends!! Barry Herman has been fighting rectal cancer for over 2 years. He’s endured 3 major surgeries with long hospital stays and countless trips to and from Mass General in Boston for treatments. After all of this effort fighting the cancer, we’ve come to the point where it is no longer responding to chemotherapy or radiation. Each surgery that was supposed to stop the spread or kill the cancer has done the opposite. The next step in the fight is to join a clinical trial that is geared toward killing only cancer cells, not the healthy cells around the tumors which is what traditional radiation does. This trial is in its first stage but mirrors a trial that is in its 3rd stage with a 20%-40% success rate. All of this continued care has taken a toll on the family’s finances and insurance only covers so much. Ultimately we will need to raise $20,000 to keep this fight going! As long as Barry has the desire to fight this BIG fight, I will be his battle buddy. Will you?
