In the year of 2020, there have been many times of sorrow for families worldwide! It has become undeniably clear that the treasure in life are the people we have around us. As a Rwandan community, together, we have come to learn that death is not the opposite of life but a part of it. Though we have come to embrace it far too often in this past year, we must learn to cherish life because time is the most finite resource of them all. On the evening of December 9th 2020, Yannick Tunga who was 20 years old left us much too soon. Yannick was a precocious, intelligent, and fun-loving young man. Yannick was someone who had the willpower to accomplish anything he set his mind to, he was very determined and even taught himself how to play drums. He had an affinity for science and was an enthusiast of history in particular black history. Yannick exuberated joy and oftentimes was the one making everyone laugh. He brought so much joy to the lives of the people around him and we will all miss him dearly. The family is going through a tremendous amount of grief at the moment and anything you can do to help ease the burden of burying their beloved son will be immensely appreciated. The family would like to thank those who have reached out and sent your thoughts and prayers. If we can take away anything from this tragedy is to remember to love with all your heart and show kindness to all because tomorrow is not given, do not take your time here on earth for granted.
