IN THE LOVING MEMORY OF BEVERLY HARRIS-TOWNSEND.
Beverly was diagnosed with ALS otherwise known as Lou Gehrig's disease In August of 2020. She had been living with this disease for about 2 years before the doctors were able to confirm a diagnoses. Throughout her battle between finding positivity, hope, and strength. Beverly was developing other symptoms that kept her at trial with her body.
"with all the hardships in my life, I find a way to keep smiling "
Beverly was not only just a warrior. She was a blood donor, a lover, an artist, a supporter, and overall a energy that would fill the room. She always even though life would throw her curve balls, found a winner's mentality. This is her brother Travis speaking; My family and I are at lost for words.
"One year ago I had a surgery that changed my life forever. I had a surgery on my C5/6 to remove my herniated disc. The surgery I had was a spinal fusion. Ever since the surgery my life has been very difficult and unfortunately me having the surgery didn’t really do me any favors. I actually just found out that before my surgery I had a large bruise on my spine that did cause extensive damage. The bruise is no longer there but my doctors do believe that there was damage done. There is still a lot that I don’t know about what is going on with my body. I hope eventually I’ll find out. It definitely has been an experience and I am still positive that everything will work out. I want to thank everyone that has reached out to me and has stuck with me through this process I love each and everyone of you." - March 5, 2020
Within all of this there is one thing Beverly would like us to remember. "I’m not gonna let this stop me. No matter how crazy this ride is I’m going to be okay."
"It was a beautiful day today "
"Never going to stop the fight... that is a promise."
"Thor loves to cuddle."
"Today is always a sad day. 7 years ago my Dad passed away from his brain tumor. He unfortunately had brain cancer/tumors basically his whole life, since he was 13 years old. When I think about what he had to go through, I just think how strong of a person he was and never gave up. He would always tell me to never say the word “can’t” he always encouraged me to always get back up to whatever life throws at you. He always told me say you can do it. For the last 8 months I have been dealing with serious health problems and I just have to remember myself that I’m my dads daughter and that I know I am a fighter and I can get through this. Dad thank you for being my angel and looking after me. I miss you." - July 13, 2020
All of the proceeds will be going to funeral and travel costs. Proceeds will also help with our mother. Cathy (Our Mother) was Beverly's fulltime around the clock caretaker and now is without financial support from the state.
Beverly a few weeks ago also did tell our parents she was going to get them a boat. So being optimistic who knows.
"Please keep sending me positive vibes. Thank you to everyone that has supported me!"
Just like Beverly, our family appreciates all of the love and support from each and everyone of you.
