In The City, Away From Home - Student Docu-series

Hey, I'm Alyssa Mitra, a third-year Film and Television student at Sheridan College, and I'm reaching out to you with a dream close to my heart. I'm putting together a small crew to craft a docu-series focusing on the incredible journeys of international creatives trying to make their mark in a new city.

This project means the world to me because I've had the honor of witnessing someone exceptionally close to me evolve from rationing peanuts in student housing to thriving in the vibrant city of Toronto, collaborating with major artists. This recent graduate has been a massive influence on my life, teaching me to embrace the grind and find joy in the journey. I've seen him at his lowest and at his best, and his growth continues to motivate me, proving that anything is possible.

I've decided on a docu-series to shine a light on the diverse stories of creatives striving to build their name in the competitive city of Toronto. My dream is to extend this journey worldwide, meeting and interviewing other "international" artists across the globe.
