Jason & Eric, In Tandem With Change

We (Jason and Eric) are embarking upon a tandem bicycle trip this summer (June - August) from Raleigh, NC  to New Orleans, LA, and we need your help! This rolling musical love machine seeks to document the human experience through the powers of music, motion, and storytelling. We will be filming a documentary and actively producing a collection of music over the course of the summer as we work our way through the deep South. We hope to utilize music as a universal language in order to foster connections between ourselves and the people we meet along our travels.

This idea was essentially born in New Orleans, during a trip that we took last Winter. Our experiences busking on the NOLA streets connected us with so many kind, insightful, and talented individuals; most of whom were living on the city streets and playing music to sustain themselves. We began to realize and understand the possibility for connection and discovery within this population of people who are mislabeled and devalued by our societal structure. We decided that pursuing these connections and tapping into this underrepresented world of street musicians was more than a worthwhile endeavor.

ANY EXTRA FUNDS WILL BE USED TO FEED THOSE IN NEED THAT WE MAY ENCOUNTER ALONG THE WAY. In fact, we will probably end up feeding a lot of people with donated food money.

We will be traveling with a bike trailer full of instruments, as well as all of the recording equipment necessary to record and produce the music we will be hearing and playing. We intend to record and produce street musicians who may not possess the connections or financial means to produce their own music. We then plan to release the music on our website (intandemwithchange.org).

In addition to the music, we will be filming a documentary of our travels over the course of the summer. We believe that film can present a real and relatable perspective which enables an audience to feel something deeply and think intently, in a way that can promote positive change within our community.

On a less serious note, we also believe that the shenanigans we are bound to experience over the course of two months traveling 1,562 miles through the heat of the Southern Summer on a tandem bicycle will be worth watching. Thank you so much for your support. We all stand in tandem with change.
