My name is Christina, I'm the great-niece of Meg. I'm writing this on behalf of my uncle Patrick and cousins, Jen and Jill. Meg unfortunately passed away on March 17th, 2025 after a tough fought battle with cancer, surrounded by the loves of her life

Last June, after already experiencing major losses to our family the year prior, my aunt Meg was diagnosed with the deadliest form of lung cancer one can be diagnosed with, stage 4 at that. We couldn't believe after everything 2023 had brought this family through, this was happening. Nonetheless, we still had high hopes that she would beat it.

In October 2024, my aunt Meg and uncle Patrick's middle daughter, Jessica, passed away tragically and unexpectedly. I can't imagine the enormous stress that put on my aunt Meg even as she was trying to be strong and fight her disease.

She underwent chemo and countless tests and medical procedures. To say that medical bills have added up over the last 9 months would be the understatement of the year. That on top of now two funeral services within five months. I can't imagine how debilitating this must be for my uncle Patrick, all while trying to grieve the loss of his daughter and his love of 53 years.

My aunt Meg and uncle Patrick met when they were 10 years old and were stuck at the hip ever since. They've always been my favorite love story, and if you know them, you know why I can't imagine how difficult it must have been to watch her suffer the way she did Although we miss her tremendously, we hold onto the comfort of knowing she is no longer suffering.

Please don't feel obligated to donate. Thoughts and prayers are always enough, but when something like this happens, you get overwhelmed with people asking what they can do to help. Since I know my uncle Patrick isn't one to ask for help, I want to ask for him. I'd like to support him in any way I can through this next chapter.

Her service will be held at 1:00 pm, on April 2nd at Altmeyer Funeral Home at 5033 Rouse Drive, Virginia Beach, VA.
