In Support of Mary Basmadjian

On April 7, 2022, our dear friend Mary Basmadjian’s grandmother, Hasmik Shakarian Alibalian, passed away. Mary has brought joy and laughter to countless friends, family, and fans. Join us in supporting her through this difficult time. Any donation amount will be greatly appreciated.

Since high school, despite many hardships of her own, Mary was her grandparents’ sole caretaker and support system. Mary has been the only constant in her grandmother’s life since 2018, when her grandfather, Gabriel, passed away. It’s been a tremendous responsibility, one she willingly took on with pride and joy.

It has been a personal inspiration to me growing up with her throughout these years, watching Mary step up when no one else would in the most selfless of ways. Mary has had to make countless sacrifices over the years, responsible for duties and decisions that most young people will never face. She has lovingly taken on the role of caregiver by dedicating the past 20 years of her life to her grandparents, when they had no one else’s support, which more often than not, has taken time away from her own personal and professional growth. She has done that while remaining dedicated to her friends and family, all while helping others forget their troubles for a moment with her gift of comedy.

Mary is now left to manage costs associated with the funeral arrangements to allow her to give her grandmother the celebration of life she deserves. All proceeds of this fund will support the costs of Hasmig Shakarian Alibalian’s funeral arrangements, limiting the burden on Mary who will now begin this new chapter of her journey.
