In support of Lissette Martinez's family

Hello Everyone! My name is Amy Fundora-Valdes, and I am here to kindly ask for your support for one of my dearest and truest friends, Lissette Martinez. Unfortunately, Lissette passed away suddenly on Friday, September 9th, while working at school.

She leaves behind two beautiful daughters, Ashley (25) and Sophia (15). They were the lights of her life! Whenever she spoke of them, her eyes sparkled with happiness. It wasn't easy for her at times due to Ashley's autism, but she always pushed forward and got her to where she needed to be, which is why she is such a well-rounded young lady today. Sophia is a brilliant sophomore in high school and an amazing dancer who always made her mom proud, and Lissette would have gone to the end of the world for her.

She also leaves behind her elderly parents, Josefa and Rolando, who already had to bury Lissette's older brother Roly 15 years ago to the day, as well as cousins, other family members and many coworkers and friends.

Lissette was an ESE teacher for over 25 years, and she touched many children's lives. Unfortunately, the education profession has also lost a very valuable person.

This GoFundme will be used to pay for the costs of the unexpected funeral, and whatever may be left over will be saved to be given to Ashley and Sophia in the future.

If there is anything we learn from this is that life is more fragile than we could ever imagine, and tomorrows are never promised! Thank you for your generosity and prayers for strength for the family at this time.
